Liverpool fixtures released: When are the juiciest games of the season?

Liverpool have had their Premier League fixtures for the 2018/2019 season confirmed, but when are the juiciest games of the season?

Manager Jurgen Klopp has already signed Fabinho and negotiations are underway for more players as he builds towards that first game of the campaign.

As always, there are some clashes that fans look forward to more than others. Eyes will definitely scan the list to find the likes of Everton and Manchester United first, but there will be plenty more juicy clashes to look forward to.

Well, the opener comes on the 11th of August in front of an Anfield that’ll be absolutely packed to the rafters. West Ham and their new manager Manuel Pellegrini will be the unlucky ones who are made to travel to Merseyside for that.

Meanwhile, it’ll take until the fifth round for a really good fixture to pop up. Sure, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester fans may take offence to that – but, come on. Tottenham Hotspur, however, will shape up to be a fascinating battle after what happened during the season past.

It’s also an early chance for Klopp to lay down a marker and impose the team on the rest of the league. Imagine the scenes if the first five games go unbeaten, including against Spurs!

The Reds then get Chelsea and Manchester City in consecutive weeks – the 29th of September and the 6th of October – before finally facing off against Everton on the 1st of December.

By then the league table should be shaping up nicely, and while bragging rights are always awesome, the difference in points tally between the two sides will tell its own story.

Christmas will treat Reds’ fans will some good fixtures as Manchester United comes around on the 15th, before Arsenal on the 29th.

News Year’s Day should be a cracker, too, as City host Liverpool. Klopp faces off against Mourinho again on the 23rd of February – which is followed up by a trip to the Toffies on the 2nd of March.
