Liverpool fans have gone mental over the rumour that the Nabil Fekir deal is about to be revived.

David Maddock, who is the northern correspondent for the Daily Mirror, has tweeted that Fekir still wants the transfer to go ahead. Not only that, but Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said publicly that the move could still happen.

Back in the early stages of June it was announced that the France international wouldn’t be making the switch to Anfield after all. According to reports, Fekir had undergone a medical and conducted an interview with the club media before the deal was scuppered.

But ever since then, there have been rumblings that the move is over, but not really over. You know, like a celebrity breakup or when you tell yourself that you’re never drinking again.

According to some sections of the media, Liverpool weren’t exactly convinced with the state of Fekir’s knee. The 24-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and missed 213 days in September 2015, and since then he’s suffered two minor knee complaints.

However, 30 league games, 18 goals and seven assists show that the France international was able to cope with a heavy workload and perform consistently. And that’s why fans are going mental over Maddock’s tweet – read below to see what they’ve been saying!

The star has been included in his country’s World Cup squad, but has only played 30 minutes across their two group games. France do have a lot of quality in advanced areas, so this is perhaps understandable – but Fekir will obviously want more involvement than that.
