This is certainly the biggest rumour that June had to offer, and probably the one that made most Liverpool fans cough into their morning cuppa in shock.

Ridiculous reports have suggested that FSG are about to sanction a £158 million move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

If this one went through, it would certainly make up for the club missing out on Fekir and Ziyech – but you just can’t see Liverpool spending so much money on one player.

Asensio has just been knocked out of the World Cup after Spain lost to Russia on penalties, while the 22-year-old has come off a domestic season in which he scored six goals and created five assists in 32 appearances.
