1.25 million people can’t be wrong about this moment from Liverpool star Jordan Henderson as England beat Sweden in the World Cup.

While goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will rightly pick up praise for his save, the determination of Henderson to stop the opposition’s attack and the manner in which he celebrated it breaking down should go down in history books.

And over one million people have watched a video on Twitter that highlights the passion in which the Reds’ midfielder goes about his business in the Three Lions’ own box. First Henderson blocks the shot, then he throws himself at the Sweden attack before picking himself up, booting the ball clear and finishes it all off by screaming at the heavens.

At the start of the tournament it felt easy to criticize the former Sunderland man as a sideways passing merchant, but his reputation has grown game by game as more and more watchers have come to appreciate the skills that make managers love Henderson.
