Pre-season is a time when players fight for their futures and Liverpool is no different. Read all the men who are playing for theirs here!

The Reds have kicked off their campaign with friendly wins against Chester and Tranmere Rovers, although the Rovers game was closer than manager Jurgen Klopp would have liked.

In a move that won’t surprise anyone, Klopp fielded two seperate XIs for each half during both encounters. This was designed to give the German a look at a large amount of players, many of whom are fighting for their Liverpool careers.

Youngsters such as Harry Wilson have been urged to use the round of domestic fixtures to prove why they deserve first team minutes in front of a baying Anfield crowd during the 20187/2019 campaign.

While senior figures like Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi have to convince Klopp that they are better value than pursuing a forward in the transfer market.
