Loris Karius

After the Champions League final and before the start of pre-season, you’d be prepared to bet your hat that Karius wouldn’t be Liverpool’s no. 1 at the start of the campaign.

But since then, things have changed. The pace of goalkeepers rumours has slowed. Klopp seems content to trust his instinct with the former Bundesliga man. He sees something amid the flaxon locks and Insta-model persona.

However, the German still has to show something during these games. A mistake that allowed Tranmere Rovers to score hasn’t helped – but Klopp is firmly backing his man.

“Now Loris concedes that goal but we cannot start the story always after each mistake. Mistakes will happen,” ESPN reported that the manager said.

Regardless of Klopp’s backing, such errors never make for a good look and the pressure will be on from now on.
