Liverpool pre-season: Every player fighting for his future
Divock Origi
23-year-old Divock Origi lit up the 2014 World Cup with his electric performances for Belgium, but his career hasn’t progressed from those heights.
Origi was farmed out on loan to Wolfsburg last season but struggled for form, only scoring seven times throughout the whole campaign.
And like a whole lotta others, Klopp has given the striker time to prove himself during these first few games. The pressure is on him as Daniel Sturridge has stepped up to the mark, and it could be a straight shoot between those two.
With Roberto Firmino the first first choice forward, the battle for a second choice is underway. Whether or not Origi or Sturridge will be happy with this role remains to be seen, but it’s the only one they’ll have.
