Liverpool fans are ecstatic as the deal to keep starlet Rhian Brewster at the club for the next five years has been announced.

Brewster has finally penned professional terms with the Reds, said Sky Sports, and supporters are over the moon to have one of the best Academy prospects securing his future at Anfield.

Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Barcelona had all been interested in the striker, wrote the report, and so this can be viewed as a minor coup by manager Jurgen Klopp and his team.

After winning the Golden Boot with eight goals in the U17 World Cup, Klopp would have been keen to see Brewster confirm that his future lies with Liverpool.

The 18-year-old hasn’t made a first-team appearance for the Reds yet, but he is viewed as a first-team option (said the Guardian). This new deal should be the first step on that road, and it’s certainly got followers of Liverpool excited. Scroll down below to read what they’ve been saying!

Should Brewster get fast-tracked to the first team squad, it would put the future of a number of players under threat. Divock Origi, Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge are fighting hard enough to convince Klopp that they’re worthy of minutes as it is – another body in the mix would prove fatal for at least one of them.

However, Sturridge has vowed to not go down without a fight and still thinks that he can perform for Liverpool on a weekly basis. Sky Sports carried quotes sourced from the Mirror in which the former England international confirmed his desire to remain at Anfield.

“I see myself staying at Liverpool, hopefully being part of the team week in, week out. Pre-season is going well, so for me it’s keeping my head down and building on that,” Sturridge said.
