Alisson Stats

As the previous video suggests, Alisson was called into duty a lot last season due to Roma’s open style of play.

According to Squawka.com, Alisson made 92 saves in the Serie A last season in 34 games. This works out at close to 3 per game, or a save every 33 minutes.

In contrast, Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius registered just 20 in 19, and 28 in 19 respectively.

What is also telling is the number of saves per goal. Alisson clocks in at 3.41, in comparison to Mignolet’s 0.95, and Karius’ 2.

Quite simply, Alisson gives Liverpool a better chance of keeping clean sheets as he is capable of producing saves that others can’t.

Aside from the shot stopping, it is important to note that Alisson also has better distribution accuracy.

Again referring to Squawka.com, we can see that the Brazilian is accurate on 83% of deliveries, compared to 75% for Mignolet, and 72% Karius.

At present David De Gea is widely considered one of the best in the world. This is perhaps a better comparison as the previous Liverpool keepers were not up to much.

Manchester United play a much more restrictive style of football under Jose Mourinho. Even still, De Gea only registers figures that are comparable to Alisson.

The Spaniard managed 90 saves in the Premier League last season from 37 games. His saves per goal was a touch higher at 3.46, while his distribution significantly lower at 63%
