Liverpool fans have loved a great summer transfer dealings but the latest move from the club has them impressed and purring with delight.
There are two elements to success in the transfer market; buying and selling. Most of the attention from fans goes on the former, but selling players well is essential to being able to buy the right ones. That is why Liverpool fans are so excited about the latest transfer news.
The Reds are courting bids on Belgian striker Divock Origi and could land up to €30 million for the young attacker. There is serious interest from La Liga side Valencia with them already offering €22 million. Liverpool are holding out for their valuation.
This latest transfer move has only gone to enhance the already burgeoning reputation of Liverpool Sporting Director Michael Edwards. His is on a roll after his record-breaking deal for Alisson Becker was completed last week.
Fans have taken to social media with delight after the latest transfer news:
Divock Origi arrived from Lille in 2014 after a breakout turn in the World Cup for Belgium. He spent that first year back on-loan at Lille before joining up with the Reds in 2015. He played a handful of games under Brendan Rodgers before Jurgen Klopp came in.
He has amassed 21 goals in 77 games for the Reds; not bad considering many of his appearances have been as a substitute. Last season he went on loan to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. That campaign started well before hitting a goal drought. One of the reasons Reds are so happy that the Valencia interest is at this price.

Many fans are watching the outgoings keenly over the next few weeks. Some are hoping that a flurry of players leaving will mean an addition or two before the window closes. More cynical fans are expecting the club to try to minimize their ‘net spend’.
