Liverpool fans are in agreement that the club should make a transfer move for unsettled Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele this summer.

It only takes the slightest bit of encouragement to get the Liverpool fanbase excited. The latest transfer news to prompt a flood of eager petitions is Barcelona signing Malcom from Bordeaux.

The La Liga giants snapping up the Brazilian in the last-minute from Roma and Everton (lol) has led to Ousmane Dembele wanting a move away from the Nou Camp. And Liverpool fans are begging the club to make a move for the dynamic forward.

While it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will shell out anything near the £130 million Barcleona paid Borussia Dortmund for his signature last summer, the club would be in the market for a loan move for the French World Cup winner.

The 21-year-old was wanted by Jurgen Klopp before he moved to the Bundesliga while he was still at Rennes. They were then priced out of the market in 2017. I am convinced Klopp likes the player and that he would do wonders for the flying winger.

Many fans are concerned that Liverpool have not brought in any reinforcements to the attacking line. Daniel Sturridge is back to fitness but we don’t know how long that will last. Divock Origi, Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings have all failed to impress during pre-season.

There is a huge drop from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to their replacements; especially with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ruled out for the season.

A short-term move for Ousmane Dembele would give Klopp another player who can operate on either wing. That would allow greater rotation and to use Mane in a number 10 role and Salah as a more traditional striker when necessary.

Undoubtedly the manager will make noises about how he is happy with the squad ahead of the season, but you get the feeling he would like one more attacker in the ranks before it kicks off on August 11th.
