New Liverpool signing Xherdan Shaqiri scored an unreal goal against Manchester United during a pre-season friendly.

Shaqiri had an excellent game as he managed to provide an assist for Daniel Sturridge as the Reds ran away victory.

Even though this game was technically meaningless, every single Liverpool fan still wants to beat United whenever they meet and the result will have left broad smiles on faces from America to England.

Manager Jurgen Klopp may have provided the chuckles before the game at the expense of Nathaniel Clyne, but it was far more serious business on the pitch as he oversaw a 4-1 hammering of the Red Devils.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool before Sturridge made it 2-1. Sheyi Ojo then converted from the penalty spot after Ander Herrera brought down Andrew Robertson. Shaqiri then hit the fourth of the game with his spectacular, overhead effort following a Ben Woodburn cross.

Teenage goalkeeper Kamil Grabara started the game as Loris Karius wasn’t available due to a slight injury, while Rafa Camacho got the nod as Clyne has flown home to attend the birth of his child. Apart from those two additions, Klopp sent out a strong side – and it paid off.

Shaqiri, whose nickname of The Powercube is perhaps the best in the Premier League, has been known for his impressive array of athletic goals. The former Stoke City man is in prime physical condition and possess a keen eye for goal, could he end up being the bargain buy of the season?

The win marks an impressive week for Liverpool, who finished their US tour with two victories – including a moral boosting win against Manchester City.

Next up is a trip to Italy to play Napoli and Torino before kicking things off in the league against West Ham United on the 12th of August.
