Top journalist Miguel Delaney has trolled Jose Mourinho and Manchester United after their pre-season hammering at the hands of Liverpool.
Delaney, who is the chief football writer at the Independent, has roasted Mourinho on Twitter after his side lost 4-1 to a rampant Reds outfit.
Goals from Sadio Mane, Daniel Sturridge, Sheyi Ojo and Xherdan Shaqiri secured the win and wrapped up the American leg of Liverpool’s pre-season with an important victory.
After losing 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will be pleased with how his team responded as they beat Manchester City and took apart United.
There is a real excitement around Anfield, Merseyside and the global LFC community right now and Delaney tapped into that for his scathing assessment of Mourinho and the Red Devils.
Looking more broadly at the league, the main four challengers for the title have a vibrancy around them right now. Everyone is feeling positive, for a variety of reasons. Everyone except United, tweeted the journalist.
Liverpool fans are looking forward to every game, excited. City same. Chelsea may be similar and their manager is now fun and Spurs are obviously massively optimistic with Poch. Then you get to United and Mourinho. We fade to grey.

Liverpool have spent a lot of money this season as they prepare for a title challenge. Bringing in high quality players like Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Shaqiri is never going to be cheap, but it’s necessary if the club want to compete with the best in the world.
And as a result of the strengthening of the spine of the team, Reds fans have every right to be optimistic for the future. That first game of the season against West Ham can’t come soon enough, while the final pre-season against against Napoli and Torino should give supporters a sense of the side Klopp will put out on the 12th of August.
One thing is for sure: there is an electric atmosphere around the club right now and it’s something that Mourinho has to envy. He might be historically successful, but there is only so much bus parking you can watch before it starts to get real old real quick.
