Liverpool have just finished their tour of the United States and experienced two excellent wins against both Manchester clubs while giving game time to the younger members of the squad.

The Reds often play friendly matches straight after a training session, and look to give game time to the youth players. Manager Jurgen Klopp has always said that this is the time for those starlets to put up their hand and push for first team selection.

Pre-season can be a difficult time for fans to really interpret the meaning of performances and what impact they will have on the upcoming campaign.

While Liverpool have bought well, there will still be times when rotation requires one of the academy players to step up and be counted. Klopp is also known for his willingness to promote those he feels has talent, just look at Trent Alexander-Arnold. Could we see that again this season?
