Liverpool and Mo Salah melt hearts with incredible gesture
Liverpool and superstar forward Mohamed Salah have melted hearts when they teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Thanks to the help of the organisation, a young fan was able to meet his idol while the Reds were on their pre-season tour of America.
It was the dream of Ammar, a 16-year-old refugee from Syria, to meet Salah. And thanks to Make-A-Wish, Liverpool and the Egyptian, the muscular distrophy battler was able to come face to face with his hero.
After leaving the war-torn nation, Ammar and his family settled in Charlotte, North Carolina two years ago. The teenager was presented with a signed shirt and posed for pictures with Salah along with his family.
Make-A-Wish was established with one goal in mind: to create life-changing experiences for children who are suffering from a critical illness. The foundation was founded in Pheonix, Arizona during the 1980s and has currently made nearly 500,000 wishes come true.
The attacker has developed a reputation for being one of the nicest guys in the game right now. Alongside Salah’s domestic charity work, the Egyptian has also donated heavily in his own country and has previously given £500,000 to help buy medical equipment for children.
After a strong finish to their US pre-season leg, in which Liverpool beat Manchester City and Manchester United, the side are now in Evian as they prepare for their final two friendlies.
Napoli and Torino will both pose different threats, while manager Jurgen Klopp will be keeping a keen eye on certain personal before judging how to use them during the domestic season.
Salah might be charitable off the field, but he’ll be ruthless on it and will look to expose any weakness or lack of sharpness from both opponents. The former Chelsea man is a key part of Klopp’s team, and all eyes will be on the 26-year-old to see if he can replicate his stunning debut Reds campaign.
