Liverpool are gearing up to begin the 2018/19 Premier League season this week and the Rush The Kop team have made their season predictions.

Enough friendlies. Enough making 10 substitutions at half-time. And definitely enough transfer speculation. Let’s get down to business. The Premier League kicks off this weekend and the Reds will face West Ham at Anfield on Saturday.

There is an air of hope and optimism that Liverpool have not had since… 1991? A run to the Champions League final plus adding high-profile players in key positions has given Liverpool fans a sense of excitement over the coming league season.

And for once it doesn’t feel like a stretch. We don’t need to imagine best case scenarios. We simply need to expect the same progress we have seen in Jurgen Klopp’s first two-and-a-half years at Anfield to continue.

Manchester City are the reigning champions and scored more goals and won more points than any other team in Premier League history. That is quite the standard for Liverpool to reach.

The Reds ended up fourth – the Champions League run distracting a little from an otherwise decent league campaign. Automatic qualification for the European Cup is not to be sniffed at but that is not where Liverpool want to be.

That is the big question for Klopp and his talented side; can they win the Premier League for the first time in 29 years?

The Rush The Kop staff have chipped in their predictions for the season predicting the top four. How many think that Liverpool can go all the way this year?
