7. Taiwo Awoniyi

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi isn’t that well known among Liverpool fans, but Klopp and is staff rate the 20-year-old fairly well, which is reflected in the long-term deal he signed before leaving Melwood.

Awoniyi has been sent out on loan to AA Gent and has already featured three times and will hope to build on last season’s exploits in Belgium, where he scored 11 goals and assisted seven for Mouscron.

That experience of a continental competition should serve the Nigeria U23 international well, but as always with these type of loan deals its tricky to know how good they are until you see how many games Awoniyi will play.

If he features a lot, scores goals and is given that experience at a higher level it’ll be all gravy. If not, a wasted year during an important phase of his career.
