8. Shamal George

20-year-old goalkeeper Shamal George has been farmed out to Tranmere Rovers after failing to make an impact with Carlisle United last season.

George played eight times for the Cumbrian outfit, conceding nine goals, during his time away from Anfield. And now he’s gone to Liverpool outfit Tranmere for a stint in League Two.

For the season opener against Stevenage FC, George could only earn a place on the bench. But hopefully more opportunities comes the youngster’s way over the course of the campaign.

George clearly isn’t in Klopp’s long-term plans, but a move like this could be useful for putting him in the shop window. Plus, he’s young for a stopper and still has plenty of time to develop.
