Liverpool fans can’t believe the exploits of former striker Danny Ings as he scored against Everton on his full debut for Southampton.

Ings was left unmarked as English midfielder James Ward-Prowse delivered a corner into the Toffies’ box, and the ex-Red pounced on the lose ball to grab a goal back for the Saints.

Jurgen Klopp finalized the move that saw the forward join Southampton on a loan deal, which will be made permanent next season. And Ings has started to repay the faith shown in him by the south-coast outfit already.

However it wasn’t enough to beat Everton, who went 2-0 up thanks to goals from big summer signing Richarlison and ex-Arsenal man Theo Walcott.

But this isn’t the first time that Ings has found the back of the net against the Toffies, and this is one of the reasons why Liverpool fans have a soft spot for the one-cap wonder. He scored during the Merseyside derby back in 2015, and made his first start in 916 days during a cup clash against Everton.

And even though the goal was announced on Southampton’s social media pages, Reds supporters were quick to flood in with their messages of support for the lad. Have a look below to see a brief selection of the best tweets.

Liverpool don’t return to Premier League action on Monday as Klopp prepares his men to take on Crystal Palace, and they will be without the services of cult hero Ragnar Klavan. Klavan has joined Italian side Cagliari in a £2 million deal, reported Goal.com.

The emergence of Gomez has pushed Klavan further down the Anfield pecking order, and Klopp rightfully identified the Estonian as being surplus to requirement for the upcoming season.
