Even Arsenal fans have started to hate on the S*n and this is a glorious thing to see.

After the Gunners’ loss to Chelsea, one upset fan managed to get a picture with Blues star N’Golo Kante – which the disgraced newspaper wanted to use for a story. After the picture desk contacted the fan, he promptly said no – which sparked with Reddit thread.

Now that rag has been hated on by the whole city of Liverpool ever since their reporting of the Hillsborough disaster, in which the S*n lied through its teeth. But to see this gain traction and spread around the country is something that should be celebrated.

Back in 2017 the club banned the newspaper from Anfield and Melwood following their dreadful coverage of the tragic incident. In April 2016 the inquest into the death of the 96 fans at Hillsborough found that they were unlawfully killed, while the Liverpool council and certain retailers have supported the Total Eclipse of The S*n campaign.

And in July of the same year, football supporters from around the country joined forces to boycott the rag. The Football Supporters Federation decided to take action to call for local shops and clubs to stop selling the paper. Fans from every Premier League club (last season) as well as those from the lower leagues got behind the idea.

The idea was initially proposed by a group of Reds called the Spirit of Shankley, and actually got seconded by an Everton fans group.

Despite an apology in 2012 from the tabloid, in which it labelled it’s infamous The Truth headline as ‘our greatest mistake’, there has been no forgiveness from the people of Merseyside. In fact, the S*n has succeeded in doing what nobody else has done – uniting fans from Liverpool and Everton.

And now it seems like those flames have started to spread beyond Merseyside and official organisations. And it’s good to see.
