In a scrappy contest on Saturday evening at Anfield, Liverpool came out 1-0 victors against a resolute, well-drilled Brighton side.

Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the game after Roberto Firmino laid him off, but should there have been more?

One encouraging thing for gaffer Jurgen Klopp is how strong the Reds are looking in defense as the Virgil van Dijk/Joe Gomez axis coped pretty well with whatever the Seagulls could throw at them.

Goalkeeper Alisson already looks the part, and few will look back in anger as former number one Loris Karius departed for Besiktas on a two-year loan deal.

No side has been able to score against Liverpool this season, although tougher tests will await than the three team’s they’ve already faced.
