Midfield options aplenty

One downfall of Liverpool last season was a severe lack of midfield depth. This became evident as injuries piled up and especially in the Champions League final, with very limited options in midfield for Klopp to pick from.

Jürgen has solved this dilemma in the summer transfer window, bringing in Fabinho and most excitingly, Naby Keïta. While Fabinho is yet to feature, Naby has already made a massive impact in a red shirt.

Another midfielder who has started the season on fire is James Milner, who has carried on his form from last season which took Liverpool to the Champions League final, with his tireless and energetic manner proving hugely important for Liverpool so far this season.

The gaffer has recognised the importance of his versatility and tirelessness to the side, and the fact that the whole team has gone unchanged for three games in a row is testament to how well they’ve been playing.

It’ll be tough to get Jordan Henderson and Fabinho into the side at this rate, but as the games pile up rotation will be required and the two will get their chance.
