Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been absolutely trolled after he dissed Liverpool in an interview.

When asked about who would finish in the top four of the Premier League, the Brazilian stated that he didn’t believe the Reds would be able to make it.

PSG have been drawn in the same Champions League group as Liverpool, and are sure to receive a feisty reception from Anfield. And after those comments, you can be sure that Merseyside will be a hostile environment for Neymar as well.

And predictably Twitter has reacted in the only way it knows how: it’s mocked the former Barcelona man for failing to appreciate the talents that lie within Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

One particularly popular account is Troll Football, and the admins behind that drew on previous players from big clubs talking about how little they fear Liverpool or the environment created by Anfield.

Manchester City ace Kevin de Bruyn, Bourris Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, Hoffenheim gaffer Julian Nagelsmann and and Spartak Moscow manager Massimo Carrera all said they weren’t afraid of the atmosphere. All of them came away with their tails between their legs. You can see that tweet here.

According to the Express, Neymar said the top four would comprise of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham. When asked to confirm if Liverpool weren’t included in that number, the Brazilian confirmed.

The Reds start their Champions League campaign by hosting PSG at Anfield on the 18th of September, before taking on Napoli away from home. Group C hasn’t been kind to Liverpool, who will have to play well if they are going to progress to the next round.

But their exploits in last season’s competition has proven that Klopp’s men can be a match for any team in the world – while the experience of playing in a huge final can only serve them well going forward.
