No. 2 – Bad Day At The Office For Wide Men

Whilst Liverpool got the perfect result which was all they really needed, it was a particularly poor day at the office for Liverpool’s star men on the wings; Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Their movement and work rate cannot be criticized. They were willing runners to the balls played down the channels by the midfield and defense. They also had plenty of attacking intent; they drove into the Spurs box at every opportunity. The issue was what they did when they got there.

Despite creating a host of chances, Mane in particular fluffed his lines on a number of occasions. There was another bad moment when Mane had a great chance to slide Salah in for a certain goal, however he hesitated before eventually passing to Naby Keïta for him to shoot poorly.

A lacklustre performance from both of the African wingers, but the result was done no harm and they’ll have a chance to redeem themselves very soon in Tuesdays encounter with PSG.
