Roberto Firmino resting his eyes before Liverpool play Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League has got fans falling in love all over again.

Firmino was pretty much stabbed in the peeper by Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen during the Reds 2-1 win at Wembley on Saturday.

Vertonghen managed to insert nearly his whole finger into the Brazilian’s eye, which is never going to be a pleasant experience. As a result, Firmino is in a race against the clock to be fit for Tuesday’s massive game against PSG.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that the ace wouldn’t be able to take part if the game was on Monday night. Back-up striker Daniel Sturridge may be thrown an opportunity to impress if Firmino can’t recover in time.

But the former Hoffenheim man is doing everything he can to try and rest up those pupils – and this photo of Firmino resting up, wearing shades indoors will his hoody pulled up over his head has got fans falling in love all over again.

The striker is known for his extravagant fashion choices, so there is every chance the glasses inside look has nothing to do with Vertonghen’s digits and everything to do with how he was feeling on the day.

"Bobby resting his eyes while chilling on his couch is very much my mood from LiverpoolFC"

Klopp will be desperate for Firmino to be fit enough to play on Tuesday night. He’s a key part of how Liverpool’s front three operate, while his work rate presses defences from the front. While Sturridge may be a good finisher, the Brazilian is a complete forward and exactly the man who Klopp would want to build a side around.

Next. This is the team that’ll smoke PSG on Tuesday. dark

The Champions League fixture and subsequent games will be a real test of the Reds’ squad. They’ve improved over the summer and added depth, but now it’s time for those rotation option players to sit up and be counted.
