Liverpool fans are raving about Trent Alexander-Arnold following the Reds 3-2 win over PSG in the Champions League.

The young right-back started and looked comfortable against one of the best attacks in Europe, which had led supporters to sign his praises.

With Nathaniel Clyne breathing down his neck, Alexander-Arnold has had to be on top form throughout the 2018/2019 campaign – and this seems to be the making of the starlet.

Clyne has been a vital player for the team ever since his move from Southampton, and it was only his injury hell that handed his then deputy the chance to impress Jurgen Klopp. Now the senior man can’t get back in the side for love nor money.

The 19-year-old made five tackles as he faced down Neymark, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappé. As well as that, Alexander-Arnold also completed an impressive 79% of his passes and won both his dribble attempts.

If the Merseyside local continues with his progression, there is nothing to suggest that he won’t become a top player in his own right. Football teams all around the world are desperate to produce one of their own, and Alexander-Arnold could be one of the best.

Liverpool have a rich history of doing so, but when Steven Gerrard retired it left the squad with a bit of a local hole. But with 51 appearances for the Reds before his 20th birthday, it appears as if the right-back is going to be the new Anfield hero.

With his athletic prowess, pace and energy, Alexander-Arnold is the perfect modern full-back. In combination with Andrew Robertson, the Reds have got two excellent attacking options in that position, as well as players with the desire and work-rate to get back and defend as well.
