Dominic Solanke

Klopp rates Dominic Solanke, and even compared him to Harry Kane a bit. Could you get a better way of telling a youngster that you believe in them than picking him in a big Champions League game?

As Solanke gets older, he’s going to need to start more and against better opposition. Eventually the odd cup appearance against Rotherham isn’t going to cut it anymore and Klopp will have to give the youngster a chance or move him on.

Starting the former Chelsea man against the French giants would also send a signal to the rest of the unused forwards to pick up their game. Divock Origi will be hoping for a sniff, but he appears to be third or fourth choice right now and that probably won’t happen.

The 21-year-old has only started five times for the Reds during his whole Anfield career, but this could be the springboard for something special. But will Klopp have the stones for it?
