No.2 – Roberto Firmino

He wanted to start on Tuesday but the manager opted for Daniel Sturridge for the majority of the game; giving Roberto Firmino as much time as possible to recover. He was needed off the bench to grab the winner.

He has scored the winning goal in the last three games and rivals van Dijk as the one player we cannot afford to lose to injury or suspension.

It was wonderful to see Sturridge on the team sheet this week. Incredibly it was his first ever start in the Champions League for Liverpool and he marked the occasion with the opening goal. His instinct for finding the net remains in-tact.

If his body can hold out then the English striker will be a crucial part of the squad this season as Liverpool challenge on four fronts.

However, for this game Firmino should come straight back into the side for the Premier League matchup. The Reds need to keep pressure on all their rivals by maintaining the 100% record. The longer that continues the more the players and fans will believe this year could be something special.
