No.4 – Fabinho

Finally. We got to see the £40 million summer signing on the pitch in a competitive game of football. It was only for 60 seconds though.

Jurgen Klopp has been very cautious and patient with introducing Fabino to the Liverpool first team. The presumption was that he was our new defensive midfielder and would be a staple in the side.

Much like the slow inclusions of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andrew Robertson the Brazilian has had to wait for his opportunity. He has missed out on the match day squad twice already.

The form of Gini Wijnaldum has been critical in keeping Fabinho out of the side. The Dutch midfielder is in his best run of form at Anfield and has been a key part of the perfect start to the season. however I think he should be rested for the next two games to give Fabinho a little run at the ‘number 6’ role.

Southampton do not pose much of an attacking threat and the Brazilian should be able to slot in without too much disruption. Then Gini can return for the tough run of fixtures starting next weekend.
