No. 4 – Early Season Pressure

Make no mistake; all the pressure is on Chelsea. The Reds are unbeaten and have 18 points at the top of the Premier League table; the only team with a perfect record. Chelsea have started the season well winning their first five games.

However, their 0-0 draw against West Ham meant they dropped for the first time. In truth they were lucky to come away from the Olympic stadium with a point. Andriy Yarmolenko’s horror miss let the Blues off the hook.

If they lose to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon they will be five points behind the league leaders. That doesn’t sound like much but almost a fifth of the season will be over and gaps can easily grow over the next few months.

The Stamford Bridge crowd will know how important this game is. An early goal for Liverpool could set the nerves on edge across the stadium and play into Liverpool’s hands.

Klopp already has two away wins under his belt against the Blues. They won there is his first season and Jordan Henderson’s wonder goal sealed it in 2016/17 when the Blues went on to win the title.

If Liverpool draw they will still be top of the table and ahead of Chelsea. All the pressure is on the Londoners.
