5.5. It was a very rough game for Trent against a world class talent in Eden Hazard. He has played so well against the big talents in Europe, but Hazard had his number. It was Trent’s positioning that gave up the first goal. He went ball chasing and left his whole side open for Hazard to run through. The young Englishman’s crossing was also a tick off, as he is still trying to come into form offensively this season. He will face most likely Leroy Sane in the next game in the league, so he must be ready.. Defender. Liverpool. TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD

8. Another very good showing at the center half position for Joe Gomez. When paired with Virgil van Dijk he can almost do no wrong, it is great to see him really develop in that role. He handled the Chelsea attack with ease, and booted out some tough balls floating around in the box. One scenario in specific where his partnership with Virgil was on full display was when one of the Chelsea attackers had a through ball right in the middle of the two, and they managed to catch up to him and pinch him off right at the perfect moment.. Defender. Liverpool. JOE GOMEZ

8. Similar to Gomez, another solid game from Virgil van Dijk. Dealt with Olivier Giroud easily, and won the majority of the balls in the air that came his way. Van Dijk was not really involved in the goal that Chelsea scored, but made sure the team was organized and composed in the latter stages when Chelsea was still pressing for three points. When James Milner came off, he was also awarded the captain’s arm band for the rest of the game, which is a real delight to see.. Defender. Liverpool. VIRGIL VAN DIJK

7. So-so game from Andy Robertson against Willian and the Blues. He rarely has a hard time with anyone, but the Brazilian got the best of him on a few occasions Saturday, and was able to make some chances off of it. The Scottish full back did however play really well at the end of the game when it mattered. He was running all around the pitch, pressing, trying to create something for the team. You really have to appreciate that sort of passion as a fan.. Defender. Liverpool. ANDY ROBERTSON
