Matthijs de Ligt

If you don’t know get to know. Matthijs de Ligt will become the next best defender in the world. There, I’ve said it.

De Ligt is already the captain of Ajax and has played 11 times for the Netherlands as well as 83 times for de Godenzonen. Remember, this kid is only 19!

Big van Dijk already knows he’ll be a killer player, while Barcelona are pretty much falling over themselves to sign the starlet. The Ajax skipper has become frustrated with the quality in the Dutch league, so you’d think that he won’t spent too much more time in the Netherlands.

Imagine a Liverpool defensive squad that included van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson and de Ligt. Oh my gosh they’d never score, and whatever combination Klopp chose would be absolutely gun.

The best thing about it is that the youngster can only get better, and you only have to cast one look at the improvements seen in Gomez, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson to know that de Ligt would get a lot better.
