Melwood youngster Adam Lewis has been seriously talked about as a realistic opinion to take over from Moreno as Robertson’s backup.

Lewis has trained with the first team and recently Goal.com said the local lad had a chance of being the next Academy graduate to get a chance to mix it with the big boys.

The website reported that the defender was a good tackler, but also comfortable with the ball at his feet and can cross with quality.

Goal’s verdict echos what the Daily Mail‘s Secret Scout said about Lewis. According to them, the 18-year-old is a handful going forward, but needs to learn how to defend more responsibly.

However, the good news is that Lewis doesn’t lack energy – something Klopp will always look for. If he has the work ethic to get up and down the touchline all day, there is no reason why he can’t place Moreno.
