No. 1: The League Table Doesn’t Lie

Liverpool. Liverpool. Top of the league. Liverpool. Liverpool. Top of the league.

It’s a song we have not heard enough of over the past three (THREE!) decades. But once again the Mighty Reds are where they should be. And it is utterly deserved.

This side has gone unbeaten after sixteen games with 13 wins and three draws. It is the best start to a league campaign in the long and storied history of Liverpool Football Club. And it is the fourth best start to a top division season ever.

They have had to be that good. Champions Manchester City broke all the records last year and have had (until recently) unbeaten start to defend their crown. The Reds have had to be historic to get here and that bodes well for this weekend.

United by contrast have dropped points in nine of their 16 games. They are yet to win against a top 5 side and have suffered defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham.

They are eight points away from the Champions League qualifying spots and 16 glorious, beautiful points behind Klopp’s Red Machine.

According to all available evidence, Liverpool are a much superior side to Man Utd and this Sunday will show the world just how big that gap is.
