7: James Milner

Liverpool love a good free, don’t they? James Milner might be younger than McAllister was when he joined the Reds, but he’s making a similar impact.

A few eyebrows may have been raised when the former Manchester City man joined, but Milner has turned all of his doubters into believers. One of the best professionals out there, the former Leeds lad can play pretty much anywhere and loves an assist as well.

Klopp has had Milner covering left-back, right-back and across the midfield three. You wouldn’t even be surprised if he dropped down to center-back or had a stint further up the field if an injury crisis cropped up.

He’s retired from England so gives his all for the club and has made 111 league appearances already. Many think he’s in the form of his life – and they’re not far wrong.
