Nathaniel Clyne

As the last man standing, conventional wisdom would suggest that Clyne gets the nod. The former Southampton man used to be an important part of the Liverpool squad, but as a limited attacking force his use to Klopp is minimal.

It’s for this reason that Clyne has been sidelined for nearly all of the season. Bringing him in from the cold in a massive fixture would be a tough ask – but if he doesn’t get the nod here then it’s clear that his Anfield career is over.

However, the extra defensive stability could allow the gaffer to play his best four attackers safe in the knowledge that Clyne will be at home to sweep up the pieces if Liverpool get caught on the counter.

On the other hand, United boss Mourinho is likely to play a more defensive game – thus an overlapping full-back will be required to break down the Red Devils’ barriers.
