Football fans have reacted to Rio Ferdinand’s sad message before Liverpool play Manchester United on Sunday in the Premier League.

The United legend posted a video on Twitter before the massive game, before ending it by saying that he’d be happy with a 1-1 draw.

And one of the consensus that came from the tweet was how far the Red Devils have fallen. Back in their pomp, that sort of mentality would never have been good enough.

The Reds are unbeaten this season while the Mancs are down in sixth position and don’t look likely to break into the top four.

After finishing second during 2017/2018, the regression at Old Trafford has been remarkable. Jose Mourinho seems to have lost the dressing room, and judging by what Ferdinand has said he’s lost the faith of the legends as well.

In team news, Mourinho could have Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof back in the side to face Liverpool. Martial could be a menace down the flanks, especially as the Reds could be without a specialist right-back – but Lindelof has been unconvincing since his arrival.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold out for a few weeks at least, James Milner could be forced into an unfamiliar role. Nathaniel Clyne is available, but has hardly played all season and would be a bit of a risk.

With only two fit central defenders, Jurgen Klopp will be on edge and keen to ensure his players get through the game unscathed.

If you take both teams and combine them, Liverpool clearly have the quality to win this one. Mohamed Salah is flying, Xherdan Shaqiri is made a big difference and the defence is rock solid.
