No. 2 – Curtis Jones

If I had to choose a couple of words to describe Curtis Jones I would say: creative, clinical and clever. The 17 year-old is a maestro in the midfield for his age, and even against older and more experienced opponents, he looks like a well-seasoned veteran.

Similar to Camacho, Jones has featured both multiple times in the preseason as well as in the FA Cup tie against Wolves, while also training at Melwood with the first team. For a teenager, the English midfielder is extraordinarily confident in his skill, as he is not afraid to pull out a few tricks and flicks when he gets a good chance.

His passing is exquisite, and he can really help develop an attack if the midfield is struggling to provide good balls into the forwards. In addition, he also has a great sight for the goal as he scored 18 goals for the U-18 and U-19 teams last season. So far this year he has scored three goals in the UEFA Youth League.

A player that is full of promise, Jones is another one that I would mark down for more appearances in the first team especially as the year goes on and Champion’s League fixtures start to pop up in the midweek.
