Liverpool have been linked with a transfer move for Leeds United’s Jack Clarke while Cristiano Ronaldo wants Mo Salah at Juventus.
Those are just two headlines to come out about the Reds in the last 24 hours as manager Jurgen Klopp and the boys jet off to Marbella in Spain for a warm weather training camp.
Liverpool now have a break before they take on Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League, but they still might struggle to field a first choice back four.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejoined the squad in full training after his awful knee injury, sustained last season as the Reds beat AS Roma to advance to the final of the competition.
The task for Klopp in the coming years is to keep the best players at Anfied while bringing through more quality, and Leeds starlet Clarke has been linked with a move to Merseyside.
This is only Clarke’s first season of senior football but he has clearly impressed enough people, but would the 18-year-old struggle to displace some of the club’s homegrown contingent?
Ryan Kent will come back from his loan spell with Rangers and could be used as a back up, while Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson will want to push for a place in the senior squad as well.
This season is likely to run all the way down to the wire, but if Liverpool can come away from it unscathed they’ll have an excellent chance at winning the Premier League. Chris Martin had a crack at predicting what the table will look like at the end of February.
