Season two

Okay so, where to start with this one.

I’m not sure whether Adam Lallana being signed by Real Madrid at 31-years-old and having a belter debut campaign, Roberto Firmino going to PSG for £80 million or Manchester United snagging Matthjis de Ligt and already making him one of the best central defenders in the Premier League is the real headline here. But let’s stick with Liverpool.

So Firmino going meant a random Spanish striker called Gerard Moreno was brought in and ended up the squad’s top goalscorer. Yeah, I’ve never heard of him either.

It was also the year of the wonderkid as Ben Woodburn and Felix got their introduction to first team life on Anfield and did pretty well. Felix made 19 appearances in all competition with four goals and four assists, while Woodburn had 21 with three goals and two assists.

But still the weirdness around transfer carries on as Florian Thauvin was brought in from Marseille and didn’t really do that much – indicating that Newcastle were right to get rid of him all those years ago.

Looking at Felix though, his attributes continue to get better and it appears as if he’s going to have a wicked third season. Almost as good are those mental stats, with high ratings for decision making, composure, flair, vision and decent marks for teamwork as well.

Oooohh Liverpool could have some player on their hands here.
