Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was sent back to school and goalkeeper Loris Karius slammed in a busy weekend for the club.
The Reds may have experienced joy thanks to a 4-2 win against Burnely, but Lovren went through conflicting emotions as he was handed a lessen during the pre-game warm up.
Degs got nutmegged three times in less than two shakes of a rat’s tail during the rondo on Sunday as the lads welcomed Lovren back to the first team squad for the first time since his injury.
Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip have been getting along like a house on fire in the middle of the back four, but that combination could now be broken up thanks to Lovren returning to functional fitness.
Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both scored twice to ensure Liverpool beat Burnley. Firmino now has 11 in the league this season while Mane has an impressive 16, just one goal behind Mohamed Salah on 17.
One bloke who also had a good day was Adam Lallana. When his name was announced on the team sheet, it caused a bit of a stir but Lallana repaid the faith shown in him by Jurgen Klopp and could be in line to start against Bayern Munich.
Possible summer transfers are already being spoken about, and Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt has set Liverpool hearts racing after he spoke highly of Dutch teammate van Dijk and admitted that he could end up at Anfield next season.
Liverpool take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday night in their last 16 second leg game. Klopp has to take his men to Munich and get a score draw or a win to progress, thanks to the away goal rule.
