Liverpool fans were quick to correct club owner John Henry victory tweet after the win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week.

The Reds are marching on in Europe but don’t say it’s four English teams in the quarter finals. Liverpool owner John Henry is getting stick from some fans for his post-victory tweet.

The American owner was quick to hop on to Twitter and show excitement after Liverpool beat Bayern Munich to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League last night.

However, rather than praise manager Jurgen Klopp, the players or the fans he referenced that there is four English sides still left in the competition.

There are couple of things that troubled some fans with that tweet. Firstly many view themselves as NOT English but Scouse.

Secondly there is no joy in the other English teams being there. Liverpool have five European Cups in the trophy cabinet and we want no other Premier League team to nab one. We are the masters of Europe.

Manchester United beat PSG last week to qualify while Tottenham Hotspur made light work of Borussia Dortmund. Title rivals Manchester City destroyed Schalke on Tuesday night leaving the Reds to complete the set last night.

The FSG owner went some way to make amends last night with his next Tweet which was a screenshot of a joke about the magnificence of Virgil van Dijk from the US broadcast:

It is the first time since the 2008/09 season that all four English teams qualified for the final eight. That raises the prospect of at least one all England clash in the next round.

The other teams left in the Champions League draw are Porto, Ajax, Juventus and Barcelona. Whoever the Reds get drawn against will be more afraid of us than we will of them.
