Liverpool fans are happy to let midfield starlet Marko Grujic spend another season away from Anfield in order to help his development.
Reds loan man Grujic has told reporters in Germany that he’d like to stay with his current club for a bit longer to help him become the best midfielder he can be.
Goal.com reporter Ronan Murphy tweeted the news and added that the Serbian has been one of the club’s best players during his injury-disrupted campaign in Berlin.
The 22-year-old has never really got a look in under Jurgen Klopp and was important in spearheading Cardiff City’s promotion push during 2017/2018 and has made 16 appearances this Bundesliga season.
Doing well now isn’t he. At 22 and with our current midfield options another year on loan at a good club in a strong league benefits everyone.

With three goals, one assist and three man of the march awards, it’s safe to say that Grujic has developed already.
But will it be enough for Klopp?
If nobody leaves Liverpool this summer, it’s so hard to see Grujic ever getting a game. The Serb probably understands this, which would make sense when used to give context to his quotes.
But you never know. James Milner could leave, there is some uncertainty surrounding the exact terms of his deal and would an offer from boyhood club Leeds United pull at his heartstrings enough to convince Milner to leave Anfield? Who knows.
As things stand there is no point in Grujic coming back to Merseyside because he won’t play enough. Staying at Hertha would be a wise idea. He already knows the team and the manager and won’t have to spend time getting settled into a new team and style.
Playing in some form of European competition would be a bonus, and it doesn’t appear as if that’ll happen for the youngster next season – but that’s something you can live with.
So this could still work out for the best, and Liverpool might get a player back with two or three years experience in a top flight – and who is ready to make the jump straight into the Premier League.
