Liverpool fans are creasing themselves with laughter as rivals Man Utd appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as full-time manager at Old Trafford.
If you are a football fan who doesn’t get happy about your rivals misfortune then I can’t relate. Liverpool fans are showing their delight at Manchester United appointing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their full-time manager.
Most observers – even Reds – have been mildly impressed with how the Norwegian has done in his audition for the role. He has brought them into contention for a Champions League place next season and to the quarter-finals of this year’s competition.
He has exceeded expectations and many feel that he has earned the job. However, Liverpool fans are more suspicious of his long-term prospects for success and believe this appointment will extent the era of mediocrity at Old Trafford since Alex Ferguson retired.
Man united we all laughing at you ole

Can't believe that Tottenham fans are much happier than the United fans on Solskjaer's appointment. Lol

A decent runs of Premier League results and the second-leg comeback at PSG have won him the full-time gig. But the first leg against hammering by PSG, the dismal showing against Wolves in the FA Cup and the immature loss to Arsenal in the league give Reds plenty to think he’s not up to the task of being a top manager.
When Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho, Man Utd were 16 points behind Liverpool. Four months later and despite much praise, that gap has increased to 18 points. Their progress in European qualification owes as much to the collective incompetence of Spurs, Arsenal and particularly Chelsea as it does to the former striker’s managerial nous.
It is telling that Spurs fans are the most happy today as it increases the likelihood Mauricio Pochettino will be in North London next season. I’m delighted the Argentinian boss won’t be working his impressive methods at Old Trafford with a bigger budget.
Maybe you think it is a decent appointment but consider this: if United hadn’t given him the job would he be in the running for any other top European side? Of course not. Four months is not proving yourself. I’m made up about this news. Up the Reds!
