Liverpool fans are reacting to a new picture of hero Jamie Carragher with a mixture of amazement and suspicion as the legend shows off new body.

Maybe he has been inspired by the imposing figure of Virgil van Dijk in red. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been hitting the gym hard and is showing off the results.

The image of the former Liverpool center back is from the Instagram of the Sweatbox Gym in Bootle where he has been on an intensive workout regime for the past 12 weeks.

Most fans have shown how impressed they are to see the transformation in such a short space of time.

There are calls for the player to join the cast of Love Island with this kind of body. Inevitably there are a few fans who think this new body has been enhanced. One conspiracy theory says this is just a photoshopped image while one or two other think it could be steroids!

The Sky pundit got into a bit of bother with rival fans after his exuberant celebration of Liverpool’s late winner in the 2-1 victory over Spurs on Sunday. He has refused to apologize. Good lad Carra!

Reds are used to hearing Manchester United shill Martin Tyler groan at every Liverpool goal yet burst in ecstasy every time Man Utd score. Add to that Gary Neville as a regular co-commentator and we are owed a celebration or two. It’s nice to have it go the other way for once!

We’re hoping it’s not the last time we hear Carra go mad on the commentary this season. As Liverpool approach the last few games they are in a neck-and-neck title race.

Hopefully he can celebrate six more Liverpool victories (and a Man City loss) over the next few weeks!
