Liverpool have scouted Fiorentina youngster Federico Chiesa, and a Serie A expert has told Rush The Kop that he would be an excellent signing.

The Reds have taken a look at the young Italian, so we decided to approach the people behind Football Radar to see if they think Chiesa would be a good fit at Anfield.

Rob Smith, the site’s Serie A expert, was kind enough to answer the following questions for us. Unless in bold text, whatever is written below here are Rob’s answers to our questions. You can follow him on Twitter at @FRcalcioRob.

Is Chiesa’s style something that would fit in with Liverpool?

Liverpool and Fiorentina’s styles of play are quite different, largely because Fiorentina aren’t known for their press, or at least not to the extent to which Klopp’s sides are. That said, Chiesa is an incredibly hard-working winger and is known for harrying of opposition players.

I’m of the belief that he is more than capable of excelling in a system that demands the attacking players to be the first line of defence. When he’s in possession he is very similar to the wide players Liverpool have, in that he drives forward and looks to commit opposition defenders.
