Can the starlet adapt to Klopp’s style and the intensity of the league?

Fiorentina play a very fluid 4-3-3 formation which, depending on the oppositions system, can become a 3-5-2 / 3-4-3.

He has, on occasion operated as a wing-back as part of a 3-5-2, and whilst this isn’t a role that gets the best out of him, he has shown the defensive side of his game.

There are very few wingers in Italy that are as capable of bursting forwards in attack and also supporting the full-back in the defensive phase. It’s arguable that maybe playing for his boyhood club provokes this hardworking nature, but he’s also shown it with Italian national team.

Using Mohamed Salah as an example, Luciano Spalletti made him defend from the front during his time at Roma, but it didn’t always seem obvious that he would be such a success in high intensity press system. However, looking at Chiesa right now, it’s very easy to imagine him quickly adapting to Klopp’s style.

Because of the type of player he is I don’t imagine it being too much of an issue. However, nowadays there are fewer and fewer Italian’s making the move overseas – not even his father played outside of Italy – so there is a slight element of uncertainty with this.

I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he knows much of the English language, so if he were to move to the Premier League I believe he’d still need a fairly long period of time to adapt. But as I’ve previously mentioned I think the style of play would suit him.
