Andrew Robertson equalled the record of most assists by a defender in Premier League history

Liverpool’s left back uplifted a pivotal role in their 5-0 clincher against Huddersfield, providing two astute deliveries for Reds’ two goals. It means Andrew Robertson has 11 assists on his name in the Premier League this season and this very tally equals the record of most assists by a defender previously set by Everton full-back Leighton Baines in 2010-11 and former Manchester City defender Andy Hinchcliffe in 1994-95.

He occupies the fourth position in the chart when it comes to most assist in the division with 11, which are two less than Eden Hazard and one fewer than Cristian Eriksen and Ryan Fraser.

Liverpool secured the signing of the Scottish international for a fee of around £8 million back in the summer of 2017. Robertson has been one of the most consistent and high performing left back in the world from the last couple of seasons and this record-breaking tally adds further to his value.

Perhaps, he does have a chance to add further to his tally as there are still two fixtures remaining in the Premier League.
