Liverpool Football Club are the talk of the NBA after three basketball legends tweet out their praise of the Reds’ Champions League victory over Barcelona.

It wasn’t just the footballing world who were gobsmacked by the 4-0 Liverpool comeback victory over Barcelona in the Champions League last night. Several NBA legends found the time to remark on the incredible win on Twitter.

It is no surprise to see LeBron James congratulate the Reds seeing as he is a stakeholder in the club. He purchased a piece of Liverpool in 2011 shortly after FSG took over the ownership of Anfield.

He invested $6.5 million back in 2011 and that is not said to be worth $35 million after the club has been restored to the heights of European prestige.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also couldn’t hide his delight as tweeted out ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ as the Reds sealed the sensational win.

His team are in the middle of a 2-2 playoff series and are getting ready for Game 5 tonight but he still found time to watch Divock Origi blast Liverpool through to the next round.

Recently retired NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki gave Jurgen Klopp a shoutout. The 7ft German name checked his countryman as the Liverpool boss is a hero in his home country. Maybe not with Bayern fans.

It speaks to how far the club have come under Klopp’s leadership. From losing 6-1 to Stoke in Steven Gerrard‘s last game for the club to hear in less than four years is sensational progress.
