Allan 1/10

This is another player who joined the club but struggled to get a work permit, but let’s be clear: Allan is not good enough for Liverpool, and never will be.

The 22-year-old started the year at German high flyers Frankfurt before ending it back in his native Brazil with Fluminense – his sixth loan spell.

With a few U20 caps, the player has some pedigree but he’ll never show that for the Reds. His Bundesliga spell was a shocker as Allan played just 174 minutes across four appearances, while he’s only featured four times in Brazil as well.

His time in Frankfurt was meant to go a lot better, said the Echo, as the club beat off competition from France and Portugal to sign him.

Allan was meant to go to Germany to help convince the authorities that he was worth a work permit for 2019/2020. But cancelling the move, they may as well have cancelled his Liverpool spell.
